March 19, 2026
Governor Joe Lombardo appointed Michael Miles as Acting Executive Director of the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) this week.
“I am committed to building on the strong foundation already in place alongside CCB staff, industry, and partners,” said Miles. “Stepping into the Director role is a privilege and a responsibility. I am committed to leading with clarity, transparency, and collaboration as we move forward together.”
Acting Executive Director Miles has served as Deputy Director of the CCB since January 2020, prior to the agency’s founding in July 2020. Before joining the CCB, Miles was employed by the Nevada Attorney General’s Office for nearly 4 years. Prior to State service, he worked as an attorney in the private sector. Miles is a licensed attorney in Nevada, and a veteran with more than a decade of service in the United States Navy.
Miles steps into the role of Acting Executive Director on March 30, 2026. The position will be vacated by James Humm, who has been appointed Director of Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy.
