CCB Welcomes New Board Member L. Kristopher Rath

January 12, 2026

Today, the Cannabis Compliance Board (CCB) welcomed new member L. Kristopher Rath, appointed by Governor Lombardo.

“I look forward to working with the CCB staff and industry in my new role,” said L. Kristopher Rath. “It is my honor to continue moving this industry forward in the State of Nevada with a sound and fair regulatory framework.”

Rath joins the Board after retiring from his role at Office of the Nevada Attorney General. Rath served as Senior Deputy Attorney General assigned to the CCB from the agency’s founding in July 2020 until November 2025. Rath also worked as an attorney in the private sector in Las Vegas for more than two decades, specializing in administrative law and medical malpractice. Rath earned an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Chicago, an MBA from Tulane University and a JD from Tulane Law School. He also serves as a board member for the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Las Vegas Numismatic Society.

“Member Rath’s expertise and experience in the State’s cannabis industry is a valuable resource to the Board,” said CCB Executive Director James Humm. “He has a proven track record in resolving disciplinary matters, refining regulations, and finding effective solutions to unique challenges.”

The Cannabis Compliance Board was established through Assembly Bill 533 during the 2019 legislative session and consists of five board members appointed by the Governor. Board members must have expertise in a range of fields, including finance and accounting, law enforcement, medicine, regulatory and legal compliance, and cannabis.
