Update to COVID-19 Guidance - Issued May 13, 2021
Per Governor Steve Sisolak and Nevada Health Response, updated guidance on masks issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is effective immediately in Nevada. Fully-vaccinated individuals do not need to wear a mask in most indoor and outdoor locations.
Cannabis establishments should review the state guidance below as a result of the updated CDC guidance:
1. The State of Nevada neither requires nor prohibits private entities from confirming a person’s vaccination status.
2. Cannabis establishments are encouraged to post signage with the latest CDC mask guidance for vaccinated and unvaccinated consumers.
3. Private entities may continue to have mask policies that are more restrictive than state and CDC guidance.
4. Individuals are considered fully-vaccinated two weeks after their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or two weeks after a single dose of the Janssen vaccine.
Additionally, CDC guidance issued on May 13 provides updates on social distancing recommendations for fully-vaccinated individuals. As a reminder, as of May 1, mitigation measures including social distancing guidelines are set by local jurisdictions. As such, cannabis establishments should review and adhere to any updated local ordinances.
The CCB maintains regulatory authority over all cannabis licensees through this transition. All current cannabis laws, rules and regulations remain in effect.
